Finance & HR Lead


Our Integrated Brand Experience Agency is looking for a seasoned Finance & HR Lead who would thrive in a dynamic, vibrant and creative environment. Ideal candidates will have 7+ years of experience in a related role.

This position reports to the Partners and works closely with team directors in leadership, as well as our external tax accounting firm to ensure integrity of all aspects of the company's accounting, HR and finance operation. It is a supervisory role, as our Workplace Experience Coordinator ("Office Manager +") will be a direct report to assist in agency tasks. You will lead Agency-level finances, AR/AP for clients with the support of our account leadership team, and HR logistics across the agency.

We are looking for a self-starter who, once secure in the day-to-day of the role, would relish an opportunity to help shape operations within finance and HR to make an impact across the agency.

Finance

  • Quarterly Forecasting (Syft)

  • Banking

  • Bill Payment

  • Client Invoicing (Google Sheets+Harvest+QB Online)

  • Monitoring and Reconciliation of POs/Contracts

  • Bookkeeping (Quickbooks Online)

  • Payroll (Gusto)

  • 401k Management and Compliance (Guideline)

  • Accounting - Coordination with external tax accounting firm

  • Operational Budgeting

  • Business Insurance (external insurance partner)

Human Resources

  • Policies, Procedures and Compliance

  • Onboarding and Exits, Documentation, Enrollment 

  • PTO and Leave Monitoring and Coordination (Kin)

  • Benefits Management and Administration

  • Dispute Mediation

  • Director Support

  • Sentiment Monitoring (Gusto)

ABOUT YOU

  • 7+ years of experience and/or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required

  • 3+ years of human resource management experience preferred

  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or related finance function preferred

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Interpersonal savvy (Ability to balance professional and personal relationships)

  • Acts with integrity, professionalism, and consistent confidentiality

  • Strong organizational, prioritization and time management abilities

  • Proficient in Google Docs suite and advanced in Google Sheets

  • Advanced Quickbooks Online capabilities

  • Learning Agility

  • Ability to excel in a creative/dynamic environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Preferred experience with: Slack, Basecamp, Harvest, Gusto, Syft, Google Suite

While Mode operates in a hybrid capacity with optional in-office work, this role requires the ability to be in-person at our Charlotte, NC office within 24 hours notice.
