Freelance Web Developer

Mode is looking for a full stack, freelance, digital partner to jump in on some upcoming projects and maintenance work. You will be working closely with our in-house development and production teams on a variety of web projects on a variety of platforms. From Wordpress to Shopify, you will be working with existing codebases to make both server-side and client-side updates directly to client websites. This support role may be available on an ongoing contract basis for the next 3-6 months, with allotted time ranging from 5 to 15 hours per week.

Requirements

Strong frontend development skills.
Ability to build full pages from design references.
Use responsive development techniques.
Ability to test your own work on a variety of browsers and devices.
Experience with Wordpress and the Wordpress ecosystem.
Experience with Laravel or other PHP MVC frameworks.
Comfortable and willing to work on existing codebases.
Able to set up and manage your own development environment. Candidates should have a working PHP and MySQL environment and be able to get new websites up and running.
Strong written and verbal communication is a must.
A working knowledge of GIT. You’ll be submitting work through pull requests.
Experience with Shopify a plus.
